How to connect to a Windows VPS with Remote Desktop

Windows servers are managed with Remote Desktop. The user is Administrator and the password is shown in your client area.

On Windows, open Remote Desktop Connection from the Start menu, enter your server IP and connect. On a Mac, install the free Windows App from the App Store.

After a new install or a reinstall, Windows needs several minutes to finish setting up on the first boot. If Remote Desktop does not answer yet, wait 10 minutes and try again, or watch the progress in the VNC console.

For security, change the Administrator password after your first login and keep Windows Update turned on.
