🛠 Managing your server
Using the extra disk space after an upgrade
When you upgrade to a bigger plan, the virtual disk grows, but on Linux the partition and file system may need to be extended before you can use the new space.
First reboot the server from your client area. Then log in and check the disk:
lsblk df -h /
If the partition is smaller than the disk, extend it and the file system (example for the first disk and first partition):
apt install -y cloud-guest-utils growpart /dev/vda 1 resize2fs /dev/vda1 # ext4 xfs_growfs / # XFS (AlmaLinux / Rocky)
