How to connect to your Linux VPS with SSH

Your login details (IP address, user and password) are in your client area: open the Dashboard and press the Login button on your server card. They were also sent to you by e-mail when the server was ready.

Windows

Open PowerShell from the Start menu and type the command below, replacing the IP with yours. PuTTY works too if you prefer it.

ssh root@YOUR_SERVER_IP

Mac and Linux

Open the Terminal app and run the same command.

The first time

You will be asked to confirm the server fingerprint: type yes and press Enter. Then type the password. Nothing appears on the screen while you type the password — that is normal, just type it and press Enter.

If the connection times out, check that the server is running in your client area and wait a few minutes after a reinstall. If it still fails, use the VNC console from your client area to log in and check the network.
